North Devon

Back

North Devon is packed with things for the family to do

There are dozens of beaches waiting to be discovered, from popular sandy beaches with miles of golden sands at Croyde & Woolacombe to secluded bays and small rocky coves - each with its own particular character.

There are many sporting activities available including surfing, sailing, golf, horse-riding, quad trials, coarse and sea fishing and diving.

Take the family on a trip in the only sea-going paddle steamer in the world, or visit wild Lundy Island - the site of 137 shipwrecks (so far!).

For family fun and adventure there are many theme parks nearby with activities for junior's and toddler's - and many are under-cover for a fun day out whatever the weather.

Watermouth Castle and Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park are within 10 minutes drive, Exmoor Zoo and Exmoor Steam Railway are within 30 minutes and The Big Sheep and The Milky Way within an hour's drive.

North Devon has a unique rural character that relies very heavily on tourism and therefore caters for the visitor's needs. Wide sandy beaches, cliff-top walks, adventure parks - North Devon has them all!
